Description

1871 5C Five Cents, Judd-1050, Pollock-1184, Low R.6, PR65 PCGS. The obverse bears a portrait of Liberty similar to that used on the nickel three cent piece. The date is below and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is above the central device. The reverse depicts a reversed Roman numeral five and the word CENTS is within a wreath. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The fields are moderately reflective and at first glance the surfaces appear brilliant, but close examination shows tiny flecks of golden over each side.
