In mid-2021, the U.S. Mint hosted a very special ceremony, including John Mercanti, to produce the final Type 1 design Gold and Silver Eagles ever and the first Type 2 design coins. This ceremony commemorated the first ever design change of two of the most popular bullion and numismatic coins in the world.
