American Silver eagles are only struck in the one-troy ounce size, which has a face value of one dollar and is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. The Silver American Eagle coins were minted at the San Francisco Mint from 1986 – 1992. From 1993 – 2000 the coins were minted in the Philadelphia Mint. In 2001 the Silver Eagle production moved to West Point where the minting is still done today. Adolph A. The other new addition are the initials of Adolph Weinman have been added to the Silver Eagle appearing directly under “In God We Trust” motto on the coin’s obverse. This marks the first time Weinman’s initials have been added to the coin. Adolph Weinman is still best remembered as the designer of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar that was struck from 1916 to 1947. This design is now used for the obverse of our beloved American Silver Eagle. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eThis beautiful American Silver Eagle was certified and graded by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). The grade is PF69 (Proof 69 or Near Perfect 69) which means the coin is completely flawless.
